On this ninth Sunday after Pentecost and Josh’s final Sunday at Trinity, we are taking a closer look at the section of Paul’s letter to the Roman believers about how the Holy Spirit assists believers and how nothing can separate God’s children from God’s love.

• In verse 28, the Greek word for “work together” often denotes two parties working together with God being the implied verbal subject. Therefore, a more accurate translation could be “God works together with those who love him for all good things.” How does this change your understanding of this verse?
